Capturing images with our Third Eye.

Do not worry, no surgery is required. When i mention Third eye. I mean seeing the surrounding not with your eyes, but with the eyes of the Bride and Groom(B&G).

It is important that we do not see our B&G as only  clients. but also as friends and to love them.

It is not unusual to see B&G engaging their friends to capture their wedding, unfortunately many of them are not wedding photographers therefore lack experience and skills. Do we know that many B&G wants to engage their friends not just for budget reason? They do that because they feel their friends know them better and therefore could shoot the wedding with more heart.

Likewise, if we could capture the couple’s wedding not just based on formulas, but truly shooting their wedding because we are their friends too and most importantly we love them, you can imagine how powerful the images will be.

And you will notice. You can see things from their perspective too.

Keep in contact often and not just during sign-up and wedding day. You will notice that this not only helps you shoot better in a wedding but also helps you alot in business wise simply because, people will refer more customers to their own friends than someone that just shoots collect money from them.

Personally i am a rather introvert person. It takes hard and long lesson for me to learn this. But after seeing the tremendous difference when I treat the couple as your friend than just a client, it just encourages me more to do so ever more.

Taking Images with your EARS.

Yes, that is not a typo error, i really mean taking images with your ears. What do i mean by that, how could we take images with our ears?

Many times during a wedding, photographers generally are more concern on how the images are taken technically. Especially for the new comers, they have a tendency to check their images every 3 secs, so that they could make sure the images are properly taken and if not they can re-take it again. There is nothing wrong with this and that is why we have a LCD screen at the back of the DSLR. And then there are many will just wait for opportunity to come and take great shots.

However if we start using our ears, there will be greater chances of taking even better images. When i mean using our ears, i mean be a busybody.. listening to conversations around us, be aware of the people around us. Listen to any potential of laughter, any potential of conversation that would burst into a laughter.

With active listening ears, we would be able to be more ready to capture more emotions between the bride, groom, their guests and also their loved ones.

Practice listening, look out for potential emotional conversation.
